H-2A and corresponding domestic workers must be available to perform each of the following job activities in connection with the harvesting and farming operations: Bus/Van Drivers-Crew Leader-QC to perform the following duties: •Employee picks up workers from different housing sites/pick up points and takes them to an assigned work site and at the end of the work day takes them back to the housing site/pick up point. •Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation. •Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, and water. •Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs. •Once a week will take workers to purchase essentials in town. •Direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during packing process. •Record information about product. •Inform farmers or farm managers of packing progress. •Identify product to determine quality. •Record information about packed product. •Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required. •Direct and monitor the activities of work crews engaged in packing. •Inspect packed product to assess quality Reasonable Accommodations Statement: To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Poor work performance, low production (below 90% of the crew’s average) and substandard work quality could result in the work day ending at 4 hours with transportation immediately to the housing afterwards. Repeated low production and poor work performance will result in progressive discipline, which subsequently may result in suspension up to termination.
Special Requirements:
Cannot be color blind due to the need to distinguish colors of the product. Must be able to use shears, clippers and other agricultural tools (i.e., hand saw (can be powered by gas)); no smoking, illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons of any sort in the housing or work fields. Worker safety on the job and in employer-provided housing is our top priority. Workers may not possess, consume, or be under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, or other controlled substances at the worksite or in the employer-provided housing. Fighting, including but not limited to, verbal, physical, or through social media or texts, and any threats or act of violence, and/or disruptive behavior against another individual or against property will not be tolerated, particularly acts of violence committed while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
