Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: Operate tractor and self-propelled machinery such as skid steer to harvest crops such as pecans; Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities; Clean and process pecans; Dig trees; Bag; Set up and operate irrigation equipment and water trees; Ground preparation for planting pecan trees, tree graft, stake and prune trees; Weed and harvest pecans; Clean work areas; Record information about crops; Direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting of crops; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Feel plants' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread fertilizer and other materials to condition soil; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Weigh containers and record weights and identifying information; Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, discard rotten items; Position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers.
Special Requirements:
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
