Job Duties:
D & K Harvesting attests and confirms that no workers will be charged any fee to obtain a job with the company. The job requires a minimum of three months of agricultural experience. In order to perform this kind of work must be able to work outside for at least six-6 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite strength and endurance, working quickly and skillfully with their hands. Corn Harvesting: Workers may work on the harvester equipment where workers follow behind harvesting corn and putting them on a conveyor belt that takes the harvested corn to be packed in a RPC that holds 48 ears of corn. The harvested corn is placed into the RPC. Once 48 ears are collected, the box is closed and put on a conveyor belt that takes is to the hauling truck following the harvester. Workers may walk behind the harvesting equipment and pick the ripe corn ensuring that all mature corn is picked from each stalk. Grader: Grader will support the production process with labor as needed in the sorting area. [Follow oral or written instructions]. Sort out all nonconforming material, i.e., husks/stalks, damaged/moldy products, rogues and off-types, inert material (weeks & refuse). Sort out all tightly husked material to be conveyed back to the husking beds and reworked. Work in conjunction with other sorting personnel with kernel clean in the sorting area as needed. Sorters are responsible for keeping the work area clean and orderly. while performing reach motion with arms and hands, twisting at the waist, stoop, talk and hear - while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to continuous elevated noise levels and moving conveyors. Dumpers: Workers will dump the filled RPCs onto the conveyor belts. Field Task: Weeding, taking, leaf sampling, gene checks, staking, picking up trash, and stocking harvest supplies. All employees must follow all quality control and safety measures while using personal protective equipment. The duties and responsibilities of workers may be revised verbally and/or in writing, as needed by the location manager and/or field supervisor. Radish Grading: Workers will inspect radishes for quality, remove damaged or defective product. Sort by size and quality. Pack sorted radishes into cases or bags according to specification. Workers will ensure the correct weight, counts and labeling of each case or bag. Workers may feed radishes onto the cutting table for trimming and further processing. They will monitor the process to ensure the flow of the radishes. Farm Equipment Operator During Field Operations: Workers may be required to operate tractors and other farm equipment during field operations as an incidental activity in the production of crops. Properly licensed workers may be required to transport fellow employees. Before any worker is required to operate any farm equipment, the worker will be instructed in the proper and safe operation of tractor. Workers will be required to operate tractors according to instructions and in a manner that protects the operator, other workers, trees, crops, and equipment. Repeated failure to obey operating and safety instructions may result in termination. Other Requirements: Workers seeking employment under this job order must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Additionally, applicants must be able to furnish job reference(s) from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. Farm, Field and Shed Sanitation: All workers will be responsible for picking up trash, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors and other farms, and shed sanitation duties. The farm owner/supervisor or a designated employee will provide specific instructions and close supervision. Workers will be expected to perform their duties in a timely and proficient manner and will have close supervision to ensure adherence to instruction. Work will be closely monitored and reviewed for quality.
