JOB DESCRIPTION:
Roofing Laborer position. 15 Temporary, Full-time positionsavailable with BLUE STAR ROOFING INC., from March 8, 2026, to November 30,2026, at 4506 Parkbreeze Court, Orlando, Florida 32808
DUTIES:
Roofing Helper will assist roofers by performing routine tasks requiringlimited skills, under close supervision of experienced roofers. Duties include:Prepare job sites and clean work areas; Sweep, clear, and remove old roofingmaterials and debris; Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment tojob locations; Set up ladders, scaffolds, and hoists for roof access; Assist withcovering roofs with layers of roofing felt, asphalt strips, or other underlaymentmaterials; Hand materials or tools to roofers and hold or position items asdirected; Nail shingles, tiles, or metal sheets in place and seal nailheads withcement as directed; Apply or spread roofing materials such as tar, asphalt,gravel, or roofing cement under supervision; Clean and maintain tools,equipment, and work areas; Assist with routine maintenance or temporary leakrepairs; Perform general labor as directed by the roofing crew leader. Work isperformed outdoors in all weather conditions. Workers may be exposed to loudnoise, hot temperatures, and must wear appropriate protective/safety gear. Thejob will require the worker to have integrity and attention to detail, and bethorough in completing work tasks, cooperative, and responsible.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The worker will perform physical activities such aslifting, balancing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.Must be able to lift 65 pounds and have a driver's license.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The standard work schedule is from7:00 AM until 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday. The worker may be offered more than the stated hours per day, depending on weather and other conditions. Extreme heat, rain, hurricanes, or drought may affect exact working hours. Work on Saturday may be required when necessary. The wage rate is no less than $18.14 per hour with at least 35 hours per week. Overtime hours are available as needed, varying from 1-10 hours. Overtime rate of pay is $27.21 per hour.
AVAILABILITY OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING:
The employer will provide on-the-jobtraining to all workers in the proper use and maintenance of roofing tools andequipment, and roofing tasks. Must report to Supervisor (Foreman).
INBOUND/OUTBOUND TRANSPORTATION:
The employer will pay in advance orreimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing,border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by thegovernment (excluding passport fees). For workers outside reasonablecommuting distances, inbound transportation (including meals and, to the extentnecessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be reimbursed, if the workercompletes half of the employment period ("50% period"), if not already paid infull prior to the 50% period. Return transportation and subsistence will beprovided or paid for to same worker if the worker completes the employmentperiod, is dismissed early by the employer except where the worker hasemployment with a subsequent employer, or where the employer hasappropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment.Transportation payments or reimbursements will be equal to the mosteconomical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Dailymeals will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day of travel or the currentminimum subsistence amount published in the Federal Register, to a maximumof $68.00 per day or the current maximum amount published in the FederalRegister to workers with acceptable receipts.
DAILY TRANSPORTATION:
Daily transportation to and from the worksite from acentralized designated pick-up location will be offered to foreign and non-localU.S. workers. The worker's use of this transportation is voluntary.
3/4THS GUARANTEE:
The employer guarantees to offer work for a total numberof work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-weekperiod of the total employment period, beginning with the first workday after thearrival of the worker at the place of employment and ending on the expirationdate specified in this job order or its extension, if any. The employer may includeall hours worked as well as any hours offered consistent with the job order that aworker chooses not to work, up to the maximum number of daily hours on thejob order. If worker separation is due to voluntary abandonment, the employerwill not be responsible for providing or paying return transportation andsubsistence expenses of the worker and the worker is not entitled to the fullthree-quarter period guarantee described above.
PROVISION OF TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, & SUPPLIES:
Employer will provide, withoutcharge, company specific tools, supplies and equipment necessary to performduties assigned.
SINGLE WORKWEEK GUARANTEE & FREQUENCY OF PAY:
The employer will use a single work week as its standard for computing wages due. The worker willbe paid on Friday (bi-weekly) by check.
DEDUCTIONS FROM WORKER'S PAY:
The employer will make all payrolldeductions required by law. If needed, employer intends to assist foreign andnon-local U.S. workers hired pursuant to this job order to secure worker-paidlodging not to exceed reasonable fair market value cost based on number ofoccupants. The employer does not envision other workforce-wide payrolldeductions.
