Job Duties:
Perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain hotel/resort guest accommodations (suites, chalets, large cabins, rental homes) and resort facilities in a clean and orderly manner. Duties include making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning rooms, kitchens/kitchenettes, hallways, bathrooms, meeting facilities, and public spaces. Remove, sort, fold, carry and replace linens. Dust and polish furniture; cleans floors using a mop; uses a broom to sweep; cleans windows and mirrors within reach. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners and shampooers. Push/pull small furniture (i.e. desk chair, ottoman) by hand to vacuum/clean underneath or to rearrange in the room. Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies, bathroom tissue, and guest amenities. For guest accommodations with a kitchen the employee will load/unload dishwasher, hand wash/dry pots and pans, stack clean dishes and put away clean pots/pans and silverware. Empty wastebaskets, collect litter around the resort including the resort’s beach area; fold/breakdown cardboard boxes by hand to fit in receptacles; dispose of trash. Periodically deep cleans guest accommodations. The employer will offer minimum 35 hours of work per week. Open 7 days a week, 5-day work schedule varies Sunday through Saturday. Normal shift time 9am-4:30pm. Shift includes 30 minutes unpaid break time. Workdays, hours, and shift time may vary with occupancy. Employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. Worker may receive tips directly from guests. Overtime may be available. In California, an overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after eight hours in a day and for the first eight hours on the seventh consecutive day of work in a workweek; at double-time after 12 hours in a day and for all hours worked in excess of eight on the seventh consecutive day of work in a workweek; and at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $29.01 per hour. Optional medical insurance benefit is available; individual cost varies widely depending on the plan selected. The cost of medical insurance will be deducted from the worker’s paycheck if the worker elects. Pay advance possible with management approval, paid back through payroll deductions if the worker elects.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to lift/carry and push/pull 50 lbs. Pre-employment criminal background check required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B. Must be able to work a 5-day schedule, including weekends and holidays as required. Applicant must complete an employment application. Required uniform provided at no charge to the worker.
