Job Duties:
The Landscaping Worker will perform a variety of outdoor physical tasks to maintain and improve landscaped areas for residential properties. Duties include preparing job sites by removing debris, rocks, brush, and existing vegetation; assisting with grading, soil preparation, and site leveling; and planting, transplanting, and installing trees, shrubs, flowers, sod, and other vegetation. The worker will spread materials such as topsoil, mulch, and compost and assist with installing simple hardscape features such as edging, pavers, retaining blocks, and decorative stone. The employee will load, unload, move, and carry materials, tools, and equipment as needed. The Landscaping Worker will perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing lawns; weeding, pruning, and deadheading plants; mulching beds; watering lawns and landscaped areas; and applying fertilizers and soil amendments as directed. The worker will assist with basic irrigation system tasks, including helping install, repair, and maintain irrigation lines, sprinklers, and drip systems, and will check soil moisture and irrigation equipment functionality. Additional responsibilities include general groundskeeping such as removing trash and debris, sweeping walkways and common areas, and cleaning tools and equipment. The job requires digging holes, trenches, and ditches using hand tools; lifting and carrying equipment, plants, and materials; and operating basic landscaping equipment including lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other hand and power tools. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity, and requires standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, and walking for extended periods. No education or prior experience is required unless specified by the employer. The employee must be able to follow instructions, work safely, and collaborate effectively as part of a crew.
