Job Duties:
Duties may include: Plant, weed, hand-pick all fruits/ vegetables/flowers. Wash, sort, pack, place in containers, load and transport to proper building/area. Clean and maintain work areas, materials and vehicles. Operate tractors/machinery/vehicles to cultivate, weed, deliver, etc. all produce, or materials needed. Duties can include tilling, applying fertilizers/plant production materials, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning and disposal of trimmings, trellising, irrigating and general aintenance/care of trees/plants. Maintaining fences and play areas. General feeding/maintenance of farm animals. General maintenance of buildings, grounds, facilities as needed. Unload delivery trucks as needed. Work with small engine equipment. Set up and operate spreaders, mowers, tractors, forklifts, discs, tractor drawn equipment, etc. Workers may be asked to handle food products outside of crops grown. Food safety standards must be followed in all areas of employment. Job may require 7 days a week, under all types of weather, hot, cold, rain or snow. Other miscellaneous duties as needed & other related Farmworker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. Crops: strawberries, raspberries, apples, pumpkins, squash, gourds, flowers, misc. garden crops. Overtime Pay: As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. ESST (Earned Sick and Safe Time) Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year
Special Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified.Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal.
