Job Duties:
Workers will perform duties related to agricultural equipment operation and crop production during periods of increased labor demand associated with planting, tillage, manure application, and harvest activities, as well as support livestock production during peak operational periods. Duties may include: Operate large agricultural equipment, including tractors and implements, for planting, tillage, and field preparation Operate equipment for manure application and nutrient management Drive Class A combination vehicles, including dump trailers and tanker units, to transport liquid manure and agricultural products The primary duties of this position are agricultural in nature, including operation of farm equipment and support of crop production activities (planting, tillage, manure application, and harvest). Driving of farm vehicles, including trucks used to transport manure or agricultural products, is incidental to the agricultural work and occurs within the normal scope of farming operations. Workers are not primarily employed as truck drivers, and transportation duties are secondary to their agricultural responsibilities. Assist with loading, hauling, and unloading of manure, crops, and agricultural materials Perform routine maintenance and basic mechanical repairs on farm equipment Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation Assist with crop production activities including planting, harvesting, and forage handling Crops include corn, wheat, soybeans, alfalfa grass and hay. Support livestock production activities during peak periods, including feed handling and general farm support Perform general agricultural labor related to seasonal farm operations Workers may use hand tools and standard agricultural equipment in the performance of these duties. This position primarily involves operation of agricultural equipment and transportation of agricultural materials and is not focused on routine livestock care.
Special Requirements:
Must have experience operating large agricultural equipment Must be capable of operating Class A combination vehicles with air brakes and tanker endorsement (or equivalent experience) Basic mechanical skills required Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions English language skills preferred for communication and safety 3 months verifiable experience Work schedule may include extended hours during peak planting, manure application, and harvest periods Workdays may include weekends and holidays as required by agricultural operations
