Job Duties:
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as hay, wheat; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, load crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Attach implements using hand tools. Increased wage and bonuses possible based on experience.
Special Requirements:
The anticipated workday is eight hours a day Monday through Saturday. The actual hours may vary and there may be periods when little or no work will be available due to weather, time of year and the requirements of the cropping program. The worker may be offered work seven days a week as farm work must be performed seven days a week. The worker will be required, however, to work 6 days a week. The worker may be offered more than 8 hours per day, but is only required to work 8 hours per day. Workers may be requested, but will not be required, to work on the worker's Sabbath and/or on Federal holidays.
