Job Duties:
I have a 750 acre hay operation. 250 acres I grow alfalfa and grass hay to be swathed, raked, and baled to sell later. I also run a self propelled forage harvester for customers. My equipment consists of late model equipment with primarily John Deere machines and older freightliner/kenworth trucks. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; load crops and drive trucks to transport to and from fields and/or storage locations or facilities; load and unload materials and commodities; load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields; maintain grounds and landscaping; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, and electric tools; work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, dirt moving equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc., self-propelled machinery, semi trucks, silage choppers, skid steers, straight frame trucks, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: grain sorghum, hay, silage. Must speak and understand English. Approximate staggered entry: 1 worker to begin July 1 and 2 workers to begin Aug 15.
Special Requirements:
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
