Job Duties:
Conduct athlete training sessions. Fluent in reading, writing and communicating in English. Provide training direction, feedback and advice to prepare athletes for long-term athletic development and upcoming competitions. Adjust coaching techniques, based on the strengths and weaknesses of athletes. Instruct individuals or groups in rules, tactics, preparedness, and performance principles, such as specific ways of engaging equipment with the snow surface to achieve desired results. Provide leadership, direction, and oversight of athlete development within the assigned program group, ensuring alignment with overall program goals and standards. Support, manage, and mentor coaching staff to maintain consistency in training quality, athlete experience, and program delivery. Know and adhere to schedule, Time & Attendance expectations. Meet, greet and interact with guests, athletes and parents daily. Lead and supervise a group of athletes, independently execute curriculum at direction of Manager. Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage, efficient operations, and alignment with program needs. Provide day-to-day staff management including oversight, direction, and support of coaching staff. Lead the delivery and execution of program curriculum, ensuring alignment with program standards while taking ownership of day-to-day training quality and athlete experience. Assist in planning training sessions, seasonal programming, and competition preparation in collaboration with Manager/Head Coach. Set up/prepare quality Training Environments: Transport and install necessary equipment for training, safety & security including closures, signage, training poles/panels, drills and other. Implement Team training at the direction of Manager/Head Coach: accountable for the quality of curriculum implemented, products and services delivered. Accountable for the overall quality, consistency, and effectiveness of training environments, curriculum delivery, and athlete outcomes. Support daily program operations including training logistics, scheduling alignment, and resource coordination. Adaptability to training environments and interpersonal dynamics. Help maintain quality and appearance of all Ski Team facilities and physical plant including Team Centre, on-mountain training facilities, signage and program imaging and other. Stay current and adhere to company guidelines, policies and procedures including but not limited to: Employee Ski & Ride Policy, safety, behavior, appearance, travel, time & attendance and other. Communicate effectively with Team Members including guest and employees. Lead clear, professional communication with athletes, parents, and staff, serving as a key point of contact for program-related information, expectations, and feedback. Provide ongoing staff feedback, support performance management, and address day-to-day personnel needs. Model and reinforce team culture, professionalism, and company standards across athletes and staff. Ensure and execute teamwork within the team, departments and company. Attend and positively contribute to required trainings and meetings. Must be able to regularly walk, talk, see, hear, and ski/snowboard. Must be capable of standing and/or balancing for long periods of time, up to 90% or more of a normal work shift. Must be capable of frequently or constantly balancing, reaching, squatting, bending, kneeling, stooping, handling, twisting. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 75bs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
Special Requirements:
3 years Alpine racing experience. 3 months ski-coaching or instruction experience. Experience with basic digital/electronic coaching tools. Level 200 USSS or equivalent with 3 months coaching experience On-the-Job Training provided. Will Train. Days and Shifts: Following Shifts available 5 days a week (Wednesday- Sunday) including weekends and holidays. Work hours from: 7:30am to 4:00pm, shifts based on the time of the season, daylight, and need. Hourly Wage: $28.04 to $36.00 per hour (based on merit and past experience with our company) Possible Wage Increase: Possible Pay Raise based on certifications and verifiable experience in the field. Overtime Possible: Overtime may be available at $42.06 to $54.00 per hour. Will require pre-hire criminal background check. References might be requested.
