Job Duties:
Will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders throughout the dining room and bar and accurately entering in Point-of-Sale system (once all training and tests are successfully completed), greeting and seating guests, serving bread tableside, running food and drinks, filling water pitchers, making coffee/tea and serving wine, mixing and serving both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages per company recipes during service, drink and garnish recipe creation and development, setting up and closing entire restaurant, keeping all work areas clean and sanitized before, during and after service, deep cleaning, restocking, and maintaining bar and coffee station, including floors, moving and setting tables, clearing, marking, and resetting bar and tables, and polishing silverware, glasses, plates and brass trays, washing glassware and bar equipment, receiving and restocking dry goods, wine, beer, and liquor, maintaining and organizing storage rooms, and par levels, updating guest food and beverage preferences in digital guest platform, balance cash receipts, slice, juice, and pit fruit for garnishing drinks. They will also be responsible for following Sails Restaurants’ steps of service.
Special Requirements:
Days and shift schedule may vary. Holidays, weekends, and evenings required as needed. Employer reserves the right to increase wage, rate, or bonus to any worker based on skill, tenure, performance, or experience. Workers must be at least 18 years of age. The Petitioner will consider for employment any applicant who possesses at least six (6) months of culinary experience in a fine- dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club. Applicant must complete pre-employment background check and drug screening at the employer's expense. Applicant will also be required to complete paid on the job training and testing as well as following the Sails Restaurants detailed steps of service. Please note that while materials are available online for training, reviewing these training materials is not mandatory outside of work hours as on-the-job training is provided. Increases in the hourly rate beyond the guaranteed minimum rate are directly correlated to Petitioners Points Advancement Policy whereas points are determined by correct communication, skill, and knowledge. A series of sixteen (16) extensive practical and written tests taken in English, will be testing product and service knowledge as well as speed of service. These tests are available to take over the duration of your employment. Overtime Exemption: ***** continued from F.b.9. Tipped position with a guaranteed wage: $21.48 per hour, paid bi-weekly. If the Bartender workers will be compensated through service charges, the Employer has classified this position as exempt from the overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) under its Section 207(i) overtime exemption. This means Bartender workers under this application are not eligible for overtime compensation for every hour worked over 40 in a work week so long as: (1) the regular rate of pay exceeds one and a half times the federal minimum wage for every hour worked in a workweek in which overtime hours are worked; and (2) during a three-month representative period, at least half of the total earnings consist of service charges. This exemption will remain in effect so long as the Bartender workers continue to work in the position and continue to be compensated through service charges. If either of the above requirements is not met, the Employer will pay overtime for all hours worked over forty (40) in a workweek at a rate of $32.22 per hour. Employer will provide each employee with one (1) uniform jacket at no cost to the employee. Employees are required to report to work wearing clean, serviceable black shoes, black pants, black socks, and a plain white T-shirt. These items are considered standard, everyday clothing and must be provided by the employee and expectation to be 100% compliant with the Company Grooming and Uniform Policy.
