Job Duties:
Perform commercial snow/ice maintenance including winter storm clean-up, trash/organic debris pickup, and snow/ice removal. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas using snow blowers, shovels or sidewalks sweepers. Spread snow-melting chemicals to sidewalks, stairs and other areas. Set out snow marking stakes/cones/markers for company’s snowplow drivers to avoid sidewalks, hazards. Load/unload tools/equipment into standard single cab pickup trucks for staging across larger client properties. (Driving is not a requirement of workers in the position). Clean and store tools/equipment when not in use. Alert supervisor to any broken tools/equipment or areas that need special attention in snow/ice clearance. Entry level; requires supervision.
Special Requirements:
Must lift/carry 50 lbs when necessary; and be able to handle prolonged periods of standing, bending, stooping in inclement weather. Shift schedules variable and workers are on call to pretreat and perform maintenance during inclement weather. Post-hire upon suspicion of use and post-accident drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers. Post-hire background checks may also be required of foreign and domestic workers based on contract requirements. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions.
