Job Duties:
Tasks include mowing, trimming, edging, and raking lawns; collecting and removing litter and yard debris; mulching, weeding, composting, and aerating soil; and watering lawns, trees, flowers, and shrubs using hoses, sprinklers, or watering cans. Workers will plant grass seed, flowers, bulbs, shrubs, and trees, and apply mulch or straw for protection. Duties also include trimming and pruning trees, shrubs, hedges, and flowers with hand or power tools; spreading grass seed, fertilizer, or basic lawn and garden treatments as directed; and monitoring the general health and appearance of plants. Workers will assist with upkeep of landscaped areas, flower beds, planters, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and other grounds features. Seasonal fall work includes raking, mulching, and composting leaves. Laborers will use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, hoes, and pruning shears, and powered equipment including lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws.
Special Requirements:
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods. No prior experience or education required; employer provides on-the-job training. Saturday and Sunday work may be required, varies with weather. Employer provided drug testing and E-verify background check is required. The employer may offer more hours than specified, depending on company needs, and other conditions. Shifts may vary, but an average scheduled workday can be from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday work may be required.
