Job Duties:
Preparing Flowerbeds and Grounds: Preparation of flowerbeds and grounds is essential for successful planting and the installation of irrigation systems. This includes clearing debris, tilling soil, and amending the earth with compost or fertilizers to ensure optimal plant health. Planting and removal of various types of plants, shrubs, small trees, and flowers, remove dead, diseased, or unwanted plants, making way for new growth, Assist with Installing, repairing, and maintaining irrigation systems watering of lawns and flowerbeds. Lawn service workers check for leaks, adjust water flow, and ensure proper drainage to prevent overwatering or waterlogging. Applying mulch and soil as needed to maintenance, remove weeds from flowerbeds and lawns both manually (by hand-pulling) and with the assistance of machines or tools, Fertilizers are applied according to the specific needs of plants, Proper watering techniques both to grounds and flowerbeds, Mowing, Edging, String Trimming, and Pruning, Maintaining effective drainage for both irrigation systems and natural rainfall, Minor Equipment Maintenance: Routine maintenance of mowers, trimmers, and hand tools is necessary to keep equipment in safe, efficient working condition. This may involve sharpening blades, changing oil, or replacing worn parts. Work Area Cleanliness: Maintaining a tidy work area is vital for safety and appearance. Workers are responsible for removing trash, fallen leaves, branches, and other debris from flowerbeds and grounds. Proper disposal or composting of organic material ensures sustainability
Special Requirements:
lawn service worker is physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting, bending, kneeling, and extended periods spent outdoors. Workers must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching both overhead and at ground level for long stretches of time. These activities are performed continuously throughout the workday. Employees must also be prepared to work in a wide range of weather conditionsincluding extreme heat, severe cold, rain, and wet environments. The ability to adapt and maintain performance under these changing and sometimes challenging weather circumstances is essential. Upon hire, workers may be subject to random drug testing, which will be administered at no cost to the employee. If a test result is positive or if the worker refuses to participate in the required testing, their employment may be terminated. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., though this may vary depending on weather conditions. Work on Saturdays and Sundays may sometimes be required to accommodate weather-related delays or other needs. The employer guarantees at least 35 hours of work per week, with the possibility of additional hours depending on factors like weather, business requirements, and special circumstances such as extreme temperatures or rain. While overtime may be offered, it is not guaranteed and is based on operational needs.
