Job Duties:
Crops: Wheat, Corn, Alfalfa, Grass 49-3041 Farm Equipment Mechanics and Service Technicians (Skill Level I) Clean all tillage, harvesting & planting equipment using water and compressed air, create worksheet of bearings, tires, and parts which need replacing on tractors, tillage equipment, and harvesting equipment; disassemble machinery using hand labor, inspect all wear parts; clean and organize shop space; order necessary parts and supplies; replace worn or broken parts, reassemble, grease all fittings and bearings using hand pump gun; use of cutting torch and welder to repair and fabricate equipment; change oil in all tractors, pickups, and trucks; winterize equipment; record all tasks completed to vehicles and equipment; clean shop by sweeping, applying buckets of oil absorbent onto shop floor, inflate tires to correct pressure, check fluid levels; removing and installing pins in draw bars, hooking and unhooking hydraulic couplers; assess all livestock and grain trailers, repair and fabricate them as needed for the upcoming season; receive new equipment, inspect new equipment and perform break in procedures.
Special Requirements:
The worker must be able to read English. Workers are not permitted to be under the influence of intoxicants of any kind during working hours. All employees are subject to employer-paid, random and upon-suspicion drug testing. Any employee who declines to take or fails this drug test will be terminated and paid for all hours worked, if any. Workers who possess a valid driver's license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor's certificate as required by 29 CFR 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver's license or doctor's certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.
