The Omni Grove Park Inn GPI Resort Holdings, LLC d/b/a The Omni Grove Park Inn, headquartered at 290 Macon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804; is seeking to fill sixteen (16) Steward positions from March 11, 2026, to January 10, 2027. This is for full time, peak-load, temporary employment.
These positions are currently only open and available to US Citizens or Permanent Residents or others with valid employment authorization and H2B workers who are currently in the USA, in valid status, eligible for porting to this employment opportunity.
These positions are not open and available to foreign workers who are not in the USA and are not in legal H2B status.
Duties include: The worker will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing china, glass, silver, pots and pans, stainless steel, and the entire kitchen area, including walls, floors, drains, and equipment. The worker must report broken or damaged equipment for repair, and carry food from the kitchen to the buffet. The worker will also properly dispose of trash from the kitchen area and maintain the dumpster area. Follow the required cleaning and sanitizing procedures. Special Requirements: There is no minimum education or experience required for this position. Applicants must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, pass a pre-employment criminal background check (paid by the employer and applied equally to all workers, including U.S. and foreign/H-2B workers), and obtain ServSafe Food Handlers Certification. Candidates should be able to work at least a five-day schedule, including weekends and holidays. All applicants are required to complete an employment application.The pay is $14.62 to $21.50 per hour with overtime available at $21.93 to $32.25 per hour, based on the hourly rate. The work schedule is as follows: 35 hours per week, with varied shifts Sunday - Saturday: 6- to 8-hour shifts from 8 am-12 am (shifts: 8 am-5 pm, 10 am-7pm, and 3pm-12 am). Shifts will vary based on events/occupancy.
The requested temporary workers will be based at 290 Macon Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804 in Buncombe County. BLS: Asheville, NC Metropolitan. As a Grove Park Inn employee, the workers can ride the Asheville Ride Transit City bus for free during the hours it operates. The employee will not provide transportation to and from housing outside of the city bus schedule. One of the employer's apartment complexes is within walking distance, 0.7 miles away. Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Pay period is bi-weekly. The employer will make all deductions required by law. Housing is available at a deduction of $260.00 biweekly, with a security deposit of $100.00. Housing is optional for workers.
Transportation, including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed by a company check, separate from the payroll check, if the worker completes half of the employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back to home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economically and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Reimbursement in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but not included passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker).
The employer will provide worker, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job and on the job training in the proper use of tools and equipment. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period only to the extent that this guarantee is enforced by the Department of Labor. As of the date of this posting, the three-fourths guarantee is not enforced, but this is subject to change.
